For Windows 7 users:
- Install Skype 4.1
- Do not plug in the phone before installing software
- Install the software VOIP 321 (for Vista), choose compability mode “Vista SP2″
- Launch the software VOIP 321, and do as it asks
Update: 28/10/2009
Note: If you installed the driver and you still receive a message saying that the device cannot be installed correctly, try to unplug it and change USB port, it helps, and sometimes it does not work well with an USB hub

Windows Vista and VOIP 321 are incompatible, and i canot used this
Try to change compatibility mode?
After wrestling for a few days with ‘incompatible’ software in Windows 7 I came across your solution. Absolutely fantastic. Phone worked in 2 seconds. Many thanks
hello, I initially have the same problem, but thanks to you I solve that. But now i just cant talk via Skype, the Skype does not recognice a sound device (i went to audio configuration in skype, and i have none line in!!)
Can you help me? I have install the Voip for vista (in vista SP compatibility) and the skype v4.1! Thanks
Try to change USB port? I encountered the same issue, no device recognized (no line in) recently, I tried to change the USB from a hub to a real USB port, and it worked
I have tried to use the phillips voip 321 phone with windows vista but I cannot get it working. When I try to change the compatability it doesn’t come up with Vista as an option even though i am on Vista Premium. Why would this be?
regards
Jill
Did you try right click on Voip321, and choose Property > Compatibility, this option exists since Windows XP.
I did all the steps mentioned above. The SKYPE-Options menue Audio doesn´t reckognize VOIP neither as microphone nor as loudspeaker… ???
Also do this:
Right Click VIOP Icom, click troubleshoot compatibility, click troubleshoot program.
if your problem is listed ( mine was ) windows 7 will try to fix it (it fixed my problem).
The solution is to fit a VIA VT6212L chipset PCE card. This achieves a 100% reported success rate with Vista, and works for me with Windows 7 64bit if I install using CA RO’s instructions. In the UK, I got the card for £2.95 including postage via ebay.
Also got this working with Windows 7 64 bit. Had to use the VIA VT6212L chipset and then got an error message saying “Please upgrade your operating system”. Then right clicked on the VOIP 321 shotcut and clicked “Troubleshoot compatbility”. Followed the wizard and then everything seemed to work.
Thx CA RO that was very handy
I have been fighting with this problem ever since I got win 7. I have tried everything – I even bought that extra usb PSI card and the works. I have tried your solution and it still does not work. Phillips VOIP321 in device manager is shown with yellow exclamation point and in my sound devices options it is not shown at all to choose. Any other ideas?
Don’t know if you have tried this, but I had the exact same exclamation – I had tried everything. I then unplugged it from the USB hub and plugged it DIRECTLY into the USB on CPU and it has worked ever since!
all set and working!!! at last.
thank you
